Chof Bais Shevat came alive at Bnos Menachem, with our hallway transformed into a fun learning hotspot called The Jewish Caring Museum.  The pop-up museum showcased a special Chof Bais Shevat Exhibit, The Art of Sensitivity, and left us all with important lessons for showing sensitivity and caring to others… just like Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka!

On the walls of our “art museum” were 5 paintings, with a miniature exhibit in front of each.  Our expert fifth grade Tour Guides deftly communicated the tale of sensitivity that each exhibit had to tell.  Some of what was featured included moving dolls, a light up train driving ‘round its track, and a “Kallah Doll” that had the girls oohing and aaahing.

As the girls visited the exhibit, they received a Museum Guide Card, on which they were able to jot down the moral of each story heard.  The last stop on the tour was in front of a large mirror, and in it the girls saw a picture of themselves.  They were the ones who would be featured in the next tale of sensitivity… what will their story be?

Chof Bais Shevat Brunch

Full of pink and full of hearts, our Chof Bais Shevat Brunch drove home some of the lessons we learned that day at The Jewish Caring Museum.  Each girl found a jumbo, pink heart shaped cookie and individual chocolate milk on their placemat, along with other treats on the table. Morah Kramer’s fifth grade presented a moving Tribute to Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, which was followed by a grand game of Get to Know You!  The girls were smiling at fellow school-mates they’d never spoken to before, as they searched for girls to sign their Get to Know You Board.  The energy in the room was high as they raced to complete their board before time ran out!  Our program ended with a raffle drawn for all those who had submitted their thoughts on what we can learn from the Rebbetzin following a Chossid Time session held two days before.

"Lifelong lessons learned, in a fun and engaging way.  The trademark of Bnos Menachem!"
