Supporters And Friends Celebrate Bnos Menachem

Bnos Menchem School for Girls welcomed a crowd of guests who celebrated and supported the school’s successes during its Annual Gala Dinner.

Guests at Battery Park’s Ritz-Carlton started the evening with passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails as they mingled in a foyer enjoying the music of world renowned pianist and composer Yaron Gershovsky. They were welcomed into the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom with a beautiful video presentation. The master of Ceremonies, Rabbi Yitzchok Schochet, introduced the guest speaker, Nobel Laureate and Holocaust survivor Professor Elie Wiesel.

“Bnos Menachem has cemented my perspective on life and helps me continue growing,” said Talia Portnoy, current student of Bnos Menachem, who addressed the applauding crowd.  The atmosphere is one filled with passion and warmth of Judaism. “The staff members give us the tools to apply what we learn both in and out of school,” she reported.

Taking the stage next was Director of Development Rabbi Shmary Gurary, who congratulated and thanked the honorees for their generous support. Honorees David and Caryn Schechtman, Itay and Liat Berger and Samuel and Peggy Nitka were presented with the Guests of Honor award.They each shared inspiring words about the organization and the great work it accomplishes.

The evening was concluded with a meaningful musical interlude and spontaneous dancing.
